Colleen Nuttall

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, our beautiful, loving mother, Colleen Petersen Nuttall, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by many of her family members.

Colleen was born in Brigham City, Utah on November 28, 1932 to Royes John and Elva Leone (Bingham) Petersen. She attended Box Elder High School where she met Keith Jesse Nuttall.
They were married September 10, 1948 in Preston, Idaho (later divorced). They were the proud parents of 11 children.
Colleen was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a testimony and love for her Savior Jesus Christ and practiced the principles of love and forgiveness taught by Him. She took great joy in serving as an ordinance worker and trainer in the Mount Timpanogos temple.

The main focus of her life was being a devoted mother to her 11 children. She loved them with all her heart and always made herself available to them. Her love was also shared with many others who entered her home.

Colleen loved beautiful music. She played violin in the high school orchestra. After taking a long hiatus she was able to pick up the violin again. She played in the Pleasant Grove Orchestra for many years. For some of those years she served as president. She also served as a choir director for her church. She was able to share her love of music by teaching piano and violin to some of her grandchildren.
She loved nature and enjoyed hiking, as well as taking drives up the canyon. She also had a love of gardening and had a beautiful row of peonies every spring.

Colleen was preceded in death by her father and mother and her siblings: Royes John Petersen Jr. (Pete),Gae Cowley, Donna Pack, Boyd Alan Petersen and Steven Bingham Petersen and by great-granddaughter, Lucy Belle Nuttall.

She is survived by her sister Pat Prather and by her children Keith Jr. (Chris), Gaylene (Emil Hahn), Cory (Denise), Kevin (Diane), Christie, Debra, Linda Brooks, David, Julie (David Radford), Sherrie (“Walt” Walter), and Jennifer. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren – with more on the way!

Happy graduation, Mom!
